Juvenile Academy
U6: We were glad to be inside the KSA again this morning away from the wind & rain! We had several kids missing with other commitments this morning so practiced a lot of small games 1 coach vs 2/3players. This helps improve out tackling confidence & we went on the have some better 5aside match play. The player of the week went to Austin Flynn for showing he’d been practicing at home. Keep it up boys & girls! As long as the weather drys up we have one more session in the KSA before we are scheduled to resume training at St Pats grounds for our Sunday morning academy at 10.30am from the 22nd of March. We have entered into the St Patricks Day Parade so we will keep you updated with WhatsApp messages nearer the time on that.
U8: We had a good turnout last Sunday for our boys and girls. It is great to see such enthusiasm by everyone and well done to the parents for getting our young players to the sessions. Don’t forget to keep practicing your skills during the week. Training continues next Sunday at the Kerry Sports Academy Hall at 10am. 10-15 minutes of work at home will make a big difference.
U10: It’s great to see that the number of players attending our under-10 sessions is remaining consistently good. We extend a welcome to Ella O’Brien one our newer players who is showing great potential. Considering the weather, we have experienced in the past few weeks we have benefitted from our extended use of the Sports Academy facilities. However, we do hope to be able to resume outdoor training in St. Pats pitch before the end of the month. We had a great mix of activity in our session last Sunday giving our young players a great workout and the kick passing is improving. Well done to all. Don’t forget it is mandatory to wear a gumshield at training and when playing games…so please wear one.
U12: Our u 12s had their first game of the year on Fri last and had a win over Kerins O’Rahillys in the Tralee League. Well done to the full panel who finally had a game after many cancellations.
Training continues this Wednesday at the usual time of 4.45pm to 6pm.

U14: Our back game against Na Gaeil in the Tralee Town Board League is now scheduled for this Friday 13th March at 5.30pm in our field and then on Sunday, the 15th, we will also be at home to Kerins O’Rahillys at 11pm.
Both games are subject to weather and pitches being playable.
U16: Training continues every Friday night from 5:30pm to 7pm on our astro pitch.
U16 Girls: Our girls were back training last Monday despite the extreme weather conditions in preparation for the County League. Well done to all who attended. Training is every Monday at 7pm.

Minors
Our minors played neighbours John Mitchels in a mid-week friendly game and then were unlucky to lose to Ballydonoghue/ Ballylongford/Asdee in the first round of the Co League. This is a skilfull, hard-working and committed group who performed very well in both fixtures.
We are at home to Cordal/Scartaglen this Saturday, 14th at 4pm in a rescheduled Round 1 MFL fixture.

Seniors
Credit Union SFL Division 3, Round 1
Duagh 1-10 St Pats 2-04

Our seniors lost their opening County League match last Sunday afternoon.
We started very brightly with a goal from Breandain Savage after 4 minutes following a quick free taken by Fergal O’Brien. We had a lot of possession in the early stages of the game but failed to capitalise on our opportunities as we kicked 4 wides within the first 15 minutes. Breandain added to his tally with an unorthodox kick from close range. With the heavens opening up, the match became scrappier and the next score from Kieran Hurley from out wide on 29 minutes happened to be the last score of the half which ended 1-02 to 1 point in our favour.

The home side started the half the much sharper side and controlled most periods of the half with their work rate and high pressing game putting pressure on our backline at every opportunity and were on the score sheet on the 4th minute through former Inter-County player, Anthony Maher. Within a 10-minute period, they hit a purple patch and registered 1-05 before a Kieran Hurley goal on 19 minutes brought the match to a 1-point game. They added 3 straight points and further stretched their lead despite a late Kieran Hurley free and a point from Fergal O’Brien. This was not enough as the home side held out for a win.
Team: Paudie Bailey, Joe O’Conor, Eoin O’Carroll, Tommy Lynch, Luke Mulligan, Kieran Dwyer, Brian Murphy, Liam Poff, Paul MacMahon, Gary Savage, Brendan Poff, Liam O’Sullivan (C), Fergal O’Brien, Kieran Hurley, Breandain Savage
Subs: Jordan Conway for Breandain Savage, Cormac Lynch for Brian Murphy
Our next match is a Round 2 County League fixture which is at home against Laune Rangers this Sunday, March 15th at 2pm. We would need our club members to come and support the team.

Birthday Wishes
Congratulations to senior player, Eoin Greaney who celebrated a significant birthday last week.

St Pats Operation Transformation Walk
We had a beautiful evening in Blennerville last Tuesday for the last official Operation Transformation walk this year. It was a very successful nationwide initiative to get people out & moving on wet winters evenings. We got a worse run of weather than expected! With just one postponed walk last week the regulars kept coming back in the wind & hail. We had at least 10 walkers including 3 children who walked every evening. We’d like to give a special mention to Ciaran Sears who completed a greater distance each week finishing with the full 5k tonight with great determination. Thanks to Kieran O’Shea from O’Sheas GALA shop for sponsoring the delicious cakes and to everyone who contributed with baking. It was nice to finish the evening with teas & coffees & chat. Thanks to Marie Fitzgibbon<www.facebook.com/mariefitzgibbon?__tn__=K-R&eid=ARCFwsKc5P5DqQ2xulpg8pVs8CeUbx1u-8QT3o5J6QSrf_UEnXJ4nwHtLEC9optnrAQj0MOVoyed2Wal&fref=mentions&__xts__%5B0%5D=68.ARCs7jPkNEGJGFA5i08yqiplglliEuIA0mjy…> for coordinating this as usual! Last Tuesday’s walk ends the formal walking series but it has been suggested that anyone who would like to continue walking on Tuesday evenings would meet outside the old clubhouse at 6.25pm & set off as a group. It could be a great motivation to keep up the exercise & social outing! Thanks to all for participating & to Cora Carrig from (KRSP) Kerry Recreation and Sports Partnership<www.facebook.com/kerryrecreationandsportspartnership/?__tn__=K-R&eid=ARDVQJ-AZWodF_pRFeR6eMVXFaCQ1Vq5NOMRSpnSHF7GxszBTQHar6AxjJJ9BA0Xm7WSfZ_n-YDoHuCJ&fref=mentions&__xts__%5B0%5D=68.ARCs7jPkNEGJGFA…> for making us aware of the initiative. Hopefully it will become an annual series! Finally a big thank you to our Health & Well-being Officer Fiona Costello<www.facebook.com/fiona.costello.796?__tn__=K-R&eid=ARAe-MZtgnkNdQF9TPqCmm1kqWNM43-rE7B_f-Y0UyVeNPfeo6IQxglZWANs223jCyNqdrf3z113kkMt&fref=mentions&__xts__%5B0%5D=68.ARCs7jPkNEGJGFA5i08yqiplglliEuIA0…> for driving this initiative from the outset.

Blennerville Community Playschool And Afterschool Update
We are delighted to announce that we have secured a premises for the continued operation of our services. After community meetings, letters to land owners, approaching the Board of Management of the school and knocking on doors, in order to secure the future of the playschool, we had to widen our search to look further afield. We have signed a lease for our new premises in Caherslee which will enable us to accommodate our rapidly increasing numbers for both preschool and afterschools. We will now be able to extend our service to accommodate preschool children full time (8.40am to 5.30pm) and we are seeking expressions of interest for toddlers. Please be assured that we are committed to our community and therefore have organized a bus service from Blennerville village to Caherslee to facilitate parents. We thank you for your continued support and if you have any queries or interest in our service, please contact us on 085-2808034, or email blennerville.playschool@gmail.com

Sympathy
The club would like to extend its sympathy to the families and friends of Nuala Smyth of Navan & formerly Curraheen, Mary Flanagan (nee Power) Clahane and Kilflynn, Mary Griffin Camp, Kathleen Murphy Derrymore and Timmy Sheehan Oakpark.

Best Regards,
