Lotto
We thank all our lotto supporters for your understanding when the Club made the decision to suspend our weekly lotto due to the social restrictions introduced because of Covid-19. We are currently reviewing the possibility of commencing the Lotto again in the near future however we have to be mindful of the public health advice in relation to Covid-19 and its impact on our promoters, sales outlets and lotto committee.
Juveniles
U6: We had a good turnout of 14 today for fun on the AstroTurf. As always under the guidance of the GAA COVID19 rules the kids had great exercise, socialising & fun. We worked on handling, kicking, solos & fun movement games before a match. The team work & passing, communication was fantastic & great to see the children learning from their practice. Anna Poff earned the trophy today for her determination & showed her skills improving. Keep up the movement, fun & skills practice at home kids. U8: Great session by our u-8s last Sunday morning. There were massive improvements shown by every single player with great skills on show and we had very competitive mini games with some great goal scoring on display. Our winning team this week was the girls who showed great commitment, skill and spirit. Special mention goes to Clodagh Keane who took home the player of the week. Special mention also to all our coaches especially our senior player David O’Callaghan after last night’s defeat against a David Clifford led Fossa. As coach Kieran likes to say “Team work makes the dream work”.
U10: It was a delight to have our regular under-10 players joined by some of the senior under-8 players for our session last Friday evening. Welcome and well done to James, Oscar, Dylan, Bruce, Jace, Rylan, Oscar and Noah who got fully involved and brought a great level of energy to the session. It was unfortunate that there was no shortage of rain during the session however it didn’t deter any of our young players from working to improve their kick passing and shooting. The extra players at the session certainly added to the robustness of the end of session game where again everyone was fully involved resulting in the rain not getting much time to settle on the goal nets at each end. The under-10’s will be back on the training pitch again on Friday evening from 6pm to 7pm, please don’t forget to put players name on the water bottle and wear a gumshield. U12: Well done to our hard-working U12s who were defeated on Sunday last in Castlegregory by a very good local team. St Pats played v well playing with great heart and teamwork in all areas of the pitch. The result after phase 1 games means we finished in 2nd place with phase 2 starting on Aug 15th. Thanks to Castlegregory for hosting us and to long-serving ref Tim Dennehy and well done to our gallant young stars. U14: Our U14’s played a challenge match against Keel/Listry last Friday evening in Blennerville. The boys displayed their great battling spirit once again and the effort put in by each player was great to see. Many thanks to Keel/Listry for a great evening of football despite the wet conditions and we wish them well in their campaign.
We trained Sunday at noon with a good turnout in preparation for our County League curtain raiser this Wednesday evening away to Annascaul/Lispole. We will inform parents of the venue and throw-in time once confirmed.
U16: Our U16’s lost to a good Tarbert side last Monday evening in Blennerville. Our Round 3 match away to Beale has been pushed back by a week.
GAA Health Questionnaire The GAA has provided a simple Health Questionnaire to be completed once prior to returning to GAA activities by adult players, parents/guardians of underage players and team personnel. While there has been a relatively good completion of the initial questionnaire it is also very important that adult players, parents/guardians of underage players and team personnel logon to the same system before each training session/game and resubmit that their health status has not changed. It takes about a minute to do this and doing so is in the interest of each individual and their team members. The Health Questionnaire is available on a mobile responsive webpage at returntoplay.gaa.ie and it is worth bookmarking this page on your browser.
Minor Football Championship
Best of Luck to St Brendan’s Board Minors who have been drawn to play St Kierans in Round 1 of the Minor Football Championship on Monday August 3rd in Killorglin at 6pm in Na Gaeil. There will be extra-time and result on the day. St Pats will be represented by Michael Doody and team manager, Tommy O’Sullivan played for St Pats.

Kerry Petroleum Junior Premier Club Championship Round 2 Group 1
Fossa 0-13 St Pats 1-07
Fossa took all the points at stake when they played St Pats in round 2 of the Junior Premier championship match played last Saturday evening in Fossa. The match saw outstanding performances from Kerry captain, David Clifford who kicked 8 points including 3 frees and St Pats Kerry hurler, Jordan Conway who gave a display of skill, tenacity and courage and was directly involved in our goal and 3 points.
Fossa started the livelier of the 2 sides and by the 10th minute had gone ahead to register 4 unanswered points including a goal-bound effort by David Clifford whose shot was tipped over the bar by Paudie Bailey. Our first point came almost mid-way into the half from a long-range point well taken by Jordan Conway. Minutes later, he intercepted a pass to pick out Kieran Hurley, who rounded Colin Myers to score the game’s only goal. Luke Mulligan also got on the score sheet from a well-worked quick free and added another from long range in injury time as we drew the first half on a score line of 0-07 to 1-04.
The second half started in a similar manner to the first as the home side seized control of the game with David Clifford moving up several gears to keep our challenge at bay. He was responsible for all the points Fossa scored in the second half as we failed to find the points needed to at least draw the game which would have put us in a great position going into next week’s match.
Our Round 3 match is this weekend when we welcome Ballyduff to Blennerville this Saturday, August 8th at 7pm. This is a must win game for us to put us within fighting chance of qualifying for the next round and avoiding a relegation play-off.
Congratulations
Congratulations to Roger Farmer and his wife, Norma Moriarty on the recent birth of a baby son. Hopefully, he will follow in his older brother, Daniel’s footsteps who is currently our U16 goalkeeper.
Also, congratulations to Liam and Sheila Sayers who celebrated a significant wedding anniversary recently.
St Pats Cúl Camp 2020 To the parents/guardians of kids who will attend the St Pats Cúl Camp which starts this week, there are some checklists that should be adhered to:
* Sign confirmation of child’s health status * Complete the Covid-19 GAA Education Module at learning.gaa.ie/covid19 * Monitor child’s temperature before each day of camp * Ensure that each child has washed their hands before arriving to the camp * Escort child to specific group of the pitch * Maintain social distancing at all times * No child is permitted to have mobile phones * Food for 3 break times (if you have more than 1 child, ensure each child carries their own lunch – no sharing) * Gumshield for the child/children * Provide waterproof storage (bags will be outside) * Label all clothing, water bottles and hand sanitisers NO person or child should attend camp if they are unwell or members of their household are showing symptoms consistent with Covid-19.
