Juvenile Academy
U6: Our U6 boys and girls continued their progression last Sunday morning when they trained despite the wet weather conditions and it was great to see their cheerful faces. As usual, training resumes next Sunday at 10.30am in the astro pitch.
U8: Well done to all the Under 8’s who trained in the rain last Sunday morning; our first time since we moved outdoors this season believe it or not that we trained in the rain! We started with a warm up with Coach John McMillan and then straight into drills where we focused on the pick up, high fielding, hop and soloing and kick passing. We finished then with two 4 a side games which were very competitive. All the players are making huge progress and are really enjoying their football which is what it’s all about at the end of the day. The player of the week trophy stays in the same house as last week as Rylan’s twin brother Jace picked up the gong. Another young man who is clearly practicing a lot at home! We would also like to say a big thank you to Bens mum Laura for providing the refreshments after training for all the academy players.
The under 8’s have a busy schedule this week. The last round of the St Brendans Board Under 8 Go Games takes place in Ballyheigue this Wednesday evening. All players to be in Ballyheigue GAA pitch for 6:50pm with a 7pm start time. Then, the following night in Caherslee, there is a preliminary session for our Under 8’s with this year’s Cúl camp coaches. It’s a great opportunity for our players to come along and try out the “Cúl Camp” experience. The St Pats Cúl Camp takes place from Monday August 5th to Friday August 9th at our pitch. You can register online at www.kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie<www.kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie>
Training will continue next Sunday morning at the usual time of 10:30am.
U10: We had a good session on last Sunday morning with plenty of emphasis on accurate kicking and movement. Well done to Patryk on being awarded the Player of the Week trophy, he put in a great session with some good tackling and strong kicking on display. The weather conditions towards the end of the session turned a little damp however for players like Tara, Rhíana, Tommy, Eddie, Rian and James this was hardly noticed so engaged were they in the game, although afterwards there was a comment or two about playing in the rain! Academy continues at the usual time of 10:30am on Sunday next.
U12: St Pats U-12’s had a busy week of Co League action. Last Tuesday & Sunday we were at home to Skellig Rangers & Ballyheigue respectively. Results were mixed with a loss v Skellig and win v Ballyheigue. Every one of our St Pats future stars Gary Scollard, Mark O Brien, Aiden Hayes, Liam O’Connor, Michael Enright, Enda Sheehan, Daniel Sheehy, Jack Costello, Darragh Murphy, Killian O’Mahony, Rory Daly, Luke Passway, Kevin Gaxha, Ben O Leary, Conor Sheehan and Rodhan Culloo put in a great effort for both games. It’s important ye all continue to attend our training sessions and also keep practicing yer skills at home during the week. The training schedule for the week will be circulated to ye shortly. Naomh Pádraig Abú!! U14 Boys: Our U14 boys opened their Central Region campaign last Thursday evening in a rescheduled match against Milltown/Castlemaine B in Blennerville and acquitted themselves very well. We had a blistering start to the game with some well taken points and goals despite missing a good number of players including our first and second choice goal keepers and having no subs to bring on. We were ahead at the end of the short whistle and made some changes, especially in goals for the second half. A combination of our tiredness and some “cute” subs introduced by the opposition made the difference and ensured that the game had a nail-biting finish as the match ended on a score line of St Pats 6-10 Milltown/Castlemaine 5-13. Well done to both teams for an exciting game of football. Our next match is this Monday, 24th June when we entertain Laune Rangers B to Blennerville in a second round fixture of the same competition. Best of luck to all involved.

Juniors Our senior B team were scheduled to play Castlegregory last Friday in Round 3, Group 3 of the Junior Football League but the match was conceded by the opposition. Our next match is a round 4 fixture when we travel west to play An Ghaeltacht next month, the 5th of July at 7.30pm in Gallarus.
Seniors
County League action resumes after the Munster football finals last weekend with St Pats making the short trip to Milltown to take on Milltown/Castlemaine in Round 7 of the Credit Union Senior Football League this Saturday, the 29th June at 7.30pm. Blennerville/Ballard Community Games
Thanks and well done to all the atheletes who represented Blennerville/Ballard over 2 days for the County finals in athletics last weekend, some for the first time. We had participants in every race and they all ran their hearts out. Congratulations to Rachel Mulgrew who brought home our first medal in the u14 800m last Saturday. She ran a great race with 2nd, 3rd and 4th place all crossing at practically the same time but she came away with 4th place and a pewter medal.
On Sunday, Blennerville/Ballyard managed to finish off the day with 5 individual medals and 2 relays medals depite the very bad weather conditions. Congratulations to the following athletes who medaled today. Lucy Mulgrew U12 long jump 3rd (bronze medal) Rachel O’Mahoney U14 long jump, 2nd (silver medal) and 4th u14 hurdles (pewter medal) Jada Clarke U16 high jump, 3rd (bronze medal) U13 MIXED RELAY, 3rd (bronze medal) Cian Caplis, Aidan Hayes, Lucy Mulgrew and Rachel O’Mahoney. U16 GIRLS RELAY, 2nd (Silver medal) Jada Clarke, Rachael O’Donnell, Grace O’Mahoney and Keelin Enright.. Congratulations to Darragh Murphy who ran a great race in the 600m U12 and finished at the top of the pack but just outside the medals. Keelin Enright also made it all the way to the U16 100m final, after finishing 2nd in her heat but unfortunately didn’t come away with a medal for her hard work. A special mention and Well done also to Sophie Mulgrew, Grace Costello, and Aidan Hayes who all ran so well in their semi-finals and just missed out narrowly on getting to the final.

Sympathy
The club would like to extend its sympathy to the families and friends of Jimmy O’Sullivan Curraheen and Fred Brown Spa Road.
