Juvenile Academy
U5
Under 5’s enjoyed a lovely sunny morning of training and were delighted to welcome some of our Ukrainian neighbours to join us. We practiced our ball skills, hop and solo. We used the obstacle course to get moving and we played a mini match. The boys and girls enjoyed a game of sharks and fishes to finish the session. Great running by everyone to get past the sharks! Well done to our players of the week Elsie and Harry.
U7
We had twenty-five kids tog out Sunday morning last, for our game’s vs Na Gaeil. We broke into four teams and judging by the smiles after the games they all seemed to have enjoyed themselves. Back next Sunday, to prepare for more games the week after hopefully! Thanks to Fiona, Noel, Mike, Paul, James, and Sharon Poff for helping out.
U8 Girls/ U10 Girls
Well done to all our Under 8 and Under 10 St Pats girls who enjoyed plenty of match experience at St Pats last Friday evening. We had visiting teams from Annascaul, Dingle and Castlegregory with four pitches running simultaneously. The showers didn’t stop the enthusiasm for some great sporting fun. The girls were rewarded with treats & drinks afterwards where photos were taken including our 2 ‘Rosebuds’ from Annascaul & St Pats who are gearing up for a busy & memorable weekend!
U11 Boys
A Great turnout last Thursday for the challenge games against two strong Churchill teams which our lads battled well. Our next game in the Central Region is away to An Ghaeltacht this Thursday at 7pm.
U12 Girls
Well done to everyone Sunday Morning who played in our fun match with the boys. We showed them how it’s done. Also Well done to Ailbhe who won our player of the week trophy this week. Ailbhe was our well-deserved winner for always giving it 100% in every game and she is another u10 player. She also stood out Sunday Morning in our match against the boys getting into great positions and running off the ball. Well done, Ailbhe.
U13
At the time of writing the U13’s were scheduled to play Castlegregory A team on Tuesday the 23rd at home in St Pat’s. This is their second game in the Central League sponsored by Kelliher’s Toyota. The previous week the U13’s had a B team game versus Ardfert and also participated in the Rose Cup. The Rose Cup competition took the form of a blitz with the team playing three games against St. Senan’s, Laune Rangers, and Douglas, respectively. Douglas went on to win the Shield final.
Seniors
Our Round 3 game was played on Sunday last; the weather was very warm for both teams. The game began with each team wanting to walk away with a win, David O Callaghan scored first for us. In the first few minutes a penalty was given to St Senan’s to which they scored; they also added another point to their tally. Fergal O Brien and Kieran Hurley put each a point on the board. St Senan’s got three points in quick succession; teamwork was evident with Fergal O Brien pass to Jordan Conway which allowed for a point of the bar. Kieran Hurley got the ball from a bad pass and scored a point. Jordan Conway and Kieran Hurley were next to show teamwork working in our favour with a point at the end of it all. Kieran Hurley was last to add a point to the scoreboard before the whistle blew for half time to read St Pats 0-07 St Senan’s 1-04.
With the conditions still very warm St Pats scored the first four points in this half with them coming from one from Breandan Savage and three from Fergal O Brien. St Senan’s went up the field and scored themselves a goal and a point to bring it to a draw. Jordan Conway and Eoin Greaney put a point each over the bar. St Senan’s got another point, with a beautiful pass from Gary Savage to Kieran Hurley it ended in a superb goal. St Senan’s put four points on the board without reply. Jordan Conway with speed up the field added his own point to try to close the gap; St Senan’s got two more points to end the game. St Pats 1-14 St Senan’s 2-12.
