Many thanks to all who contribute to our weekly Club Lotto. The Club cannot emphasise enough the importance of our members promoting the Club Lotto among family, friends and work colleagues. The Covid-19 restrictions have seriously hampered our fundraising and income over the last 18 months. The Lotto is now a critical source of funds for the Club. We are appealing to all club members to promote our lotto at this time to ensure our clubs future viability.

Please have your lotto entries in by 7pm, every Sunday evenings.

Juvenile Academy

U5’s: Despite a foggy start to the morning, the U5 boys and girls came out full of energy. We practiced our ball handling skills, with lots of emphasis on movement and running with the ball. Well done to player of the week Kean Fitzgerald. U7’s: We had an excellent turn out in hot conditions in Blennerville today. Massive effort was put in by all boys and girls. As always big thanks to all the trainers. A big well done to Mark Ladjuschenkov who was our player of the week. U8 Girls: Our u8 girls had a fun training session in the sunshine at St Pats. We practiced our hand-pass and kick-pass, then had some fun games of Sharks & Fishes and Bulldog. We finished up with a match where everyone got to practice their skills and all the girls showed great energy and enthusiasm. Well done to our joint players of the week Mary Kate and Rachel. U9’s: We had a great u9 session on Sunday as our players enjoyed the last of the summer heat. After working on our skills we played some great matches with Rilan and Bruce kicking some great scores. Well done to Paddy Costello who took home player of the week for his great tackling work We will train again Sunday at 10:30
U10 Girls: This morning Sunday 29th of August, U10 girls practiced solo drills, hand pass drills & shooting. They also worked on their long kick pass. They finished with a 6-a-side match. Player of the week this week was Saorlaith Costello who worked really hard this morning in training and showed great skill in the match scoring from defence. Well done Saorlaith. Everyone keep up the good work.
U11’s: On the evening of the 26th August our U11 panel had their last game in this round of the Lee Strand County Go –games series when we played Tarbert Under 11’s on our own pitch. We had a big turnout so we had a large number of substitutes and we tried our best to get everyone some game time. The home team had a challenging first half and found scores hard to come by against a very skilful Tarbert side. There was some great defensive work from Eddie, Jake, Jace, Stephen, Sarah, Charlie, James and Gearóid in goals. We moved the ball better for the second half and the whole team played well, particularly Ethan, Bruce, Sam, Alannah, Ashling, Seamus, Thomas, Safira, Darragh and Rylan. Overall, it was a great contest with a good Tarbert side, and a good team performance all round. Lainey particularly impressed the coaches with her skill and bravery, while Paddy impressed with his excellent tackling and interceptions. Many thanks to Tarbert for the sporting manner of their play and to our local referee Adam. Training continued on Sunday morning where we were delighted to see the return of Rian and Noah to the club grounds. We also welcomed Darragh Sheehan to train with the u11 group this week. We had a good skills session followed by a energetic practice match. The Go games and extra practice at home has really brought on the group and it’s encouraging to see our young players develop this year. We look forward to seeing Tommy and Hugh return to the team over the next week. We are starting the Town League, this Thursday evening, we will update the group with details when confirmed. Training continues on Sunday at 12 noon at St Pat’s club grounds in Blennerville V92 RH98. A reminder to parents that all players are to have a gum shield and to wear it at training and to register on www.foireann.ie<www.foireann.ie>
U12 Girls: Last Sunday morning, the girls started off with a warmup with fundamental movements. We practiced a soloing drill using both legs (task for this week). The final drill had the girls passing inside the box and finding a player who found a free space outside the box who could score. We followed with a five-a-side match where all the girls showed great skills and enthusiasm throughout the game. Well done our player of the week, Rhianna O’Brien, for impressing me with her skills and enthusiasm after only returning from holidays last week. Keep up the practicing at home girls! We have an upcoming game on Friday next, details to follow.
U13’s: We will have fixtures for the next competition which is the Tralee & St Brendans U 13 League very soon. Games will start on September 5th and continue for a number of weeks. Training will continue during the week. Best wishes to all of our future stars who will return to school especially those who are starting secondary school. Go nEirí libh.
U15’s: Our U15s were well beaten by a good Dingle side last Wednesday evening in a Kellihers Garage Central Region round 5 fixture in Blennerville. We made a lot of mistakes and were punished each time they had possession after our promising start. We did try to rally but it was a little too late. We had a light session last Sunday noon in our Astro pitch with good attendance. Our final round in the same competition will be played this Wednesday evening at 7pm when we welcome Ballymac B to Blennerville. Best of luck to all involved.

U16/Ladies
Last Monday evening, our U16/ladies played a very entertaining challenge game against Moyvane in which our team acquitted themselves well.

Seniors
Our seniors are in training in preparation for their Group 1 Junior Premier Club Championship against Keel. This match is now provisionally fixed for at 6pm on Saturday 4 September in John Mitchels.

Dog Fouling Dog fouling in Lohercannon and the road to the lock gates has become a major problem of late. We are appealing to everyone who walks their dog in our locality to please show some respect & pick up after your dog. We all like/need clean footpaths and roads to walk on, so if you use this area, keep it clean.
