Many thanks to all who contribute to our weekly Club Lotto. The Club cannot emphasise enough the importance of our members promoting the Club Lotto among family, friends and work colleagues. The Covid-19 restrictions have seriously hampered our fundraising and income over the last 18 months. The Lotto is now a critical source of funds for the Club. We are appealing to all club members to promote our lotto at this time to ensure our clubs future viability.

Please have your lotto entries in by 7pm, every Sunday evenings.

Juvenile Academy

U5’s: A warm muggy morning meant plenty of water breaks and lots of red faces on the boys and girls at training. There was great participation in the warm up, then the sessions broke into stations focusing on movement, ball handling, agility and kicking. George Poff Jnr really made great improvement this week and earned player of the week.
U7’s: Numbers were low this morning but that didn’t deter the boys and girls who all put in a huge effort during the session. As always big thanks to all the trainers. U8 Girls: We had a great session with the u-8s we focused on the pick-up at speed and also the hand pass and we practiced that with the 3 person weave which is a bit complicated but the girls picked it up very quick. All the girls showed great tenacity and application but the girl who stood out on the day was Abbey.
U9’s: Our u9 boys were out in Churchill on Sunday morning where we had a fun filled morning of go games with the locals. The boys are improving hugely and the coaches are delighted with their progress AJ Turner, Dylan Murphy and Bruce McMillan kicked some great scores and Flynn Howarth, Rilan Flynn and Thomas Higgins put in some great tackles. Training will continue next Sunday at 10:30 as usual Many thanks to Churchill for organizing the morning.
U10 Girls: Our U10 girls practiced solo drills, hand pass drills & shooting. They worked on making space to receive a pass after they made a pass. They also worked on their 1 on 1 play in pairs each taking turns on attacking and defending. They finished with a match including the u8 girls. Player of the week this week was Jessica Lacey who always works hard, listens attentively and had high scoring in the match. Well done Jessica. Everyone keep up the good work. Training as normal again next Sunday 29th at 10.30am
U11’s: On the evening of the 19th August our U11 panel had our penultimate game in Phase two of the Lee Strand County Go –games series. We were hosted by Scartaglen GAA at their home pitch in Dromulton. We were able to give a game to all our players who travelled. This was much welcomed by the players and made the evening more enjoyable. It was a closely contested game played in a good spirit. Both sides played really well and there was a noticeable improvement in passing and defending this week from our players. Stephen, Isaac and James commanded the midfield, they linked up well to move the ball quickly from defence into the forwards. Paddy and Jake were excellent in defence. Isaac in midfield, Alannah in attack and Gearóid in goals played their best games so far. They were well supported by Jace, Darragh, Ashling, Bruce and Thomas. Rylan had a very good game if defence and made a number of good forward runs to link up Darragh and Jace, all three continued to show their keen eye for goal. The highlight of the game was an amazing triple save, three reflex stops in three seconds, by Gearóid to deny the Scartaglen attack. It capped a fine performance as he was the standout player on the day. A special mention to Stephen who travelled all the way back from his holidays in Wexford to make the throw-in, and had a fine game. Overall, it was a very enjoyable evening of football, many thanks to Scartaglen for the sporting manner of their play. Training continued on Sunday morning with our enthusiastic group of young players. We are scheduled to have our last Go-Game of the Lee Strand U11 Co League on this Thursday 26th at 18:30 at our own pitch when we host Tarbert. Training also continues on Sunday at 12 noon at St Pat’s club grounds in Blennerville V92 RH98. A reminder to parents that all players are to have a gum shield and to wear it at training and to register on www.foireann.ie
U12 Girls: Today we focused on drills with the high catching & moving each one of the girls worked hard to their jumping Technique great effort by all, next drill was Solo – toe tap & pass in groups of 2 followed by a fun drill pass the guards working on their side stepping passing the guards. We followed with a mini match with the first 10 mins where the girls could only score running through narrow poles but the teams were not allowed the stand of front of poles only defend the player trying to run through, Thanks to Gearoid & Ethan for playing in goals for the last 10mins it gave each girl a touch of the ball Eve O Sullivan impressed me today and got player of the week congratulations Eve. Keep up the practicing at home girls
U13’s: St Pats 2 12 v Gneeveguilla 4 14 We were defeated by a very good Gneeveguilla side who won this division on Sunday last. We found ourselves 6 points down at half time despite having plenty of possession. However, our opponents scored 3 goals in the 3rd quarter and despite an enormous team effort, we couldn’t close the gap. Congrats to Gneeveguilla who are worthy winners of the group. Squad; L Passway (capt), D & J Flahive, J Bowler, B O’Leary, G Scollard, S Enright, R Culloo, C Keane, C Sheehan, B Leen, F Carmody, J Costello & D Murphy
U15’s: Our U15s travelled to Annascaul last Wednesday evening to take on Annascaul/Lispole in a Kellihers Garage Central Region competition. We played 14- a side due to numbers and unfortunately, we came out on the wrong side of victory as the hosts ran out comfortable winners. Even though we lost, our lads were determined and put in a great effort throughout the duration of the game.
Our next game is against Dingle in the same competition and the match will be played in Blennerville this Wednesday, August 25 at 7pm.

U16 Girls: Our U16 girls/Junior team are playing Moyvane tomorrow evening in Blennerville at 7pm. Best of luck to all involved.
