Juvenile Academy
Our Academy for 2020 kicked off last Sunday morning at the Kerry Sports Academy, IT Tralee. Well done to all the players that took part in the great session and also thanks to the coaches and parents who helped make it a success. We hope to see you all again on Sunday at 10am.
U6: We are delighted to be back in such fantastic facilities in the Kerry Sports Academy. It’s lovely to see so many of last years under 6 players moving confidently up to under 8 level, hopefully with a love for St Pats club for the future! We welcomed several new families today who are always more than welcome throughout the season. We cater for children from 4-6 years & younger siblings are welcome to join in. Today we focused of fun & ball touches, change of direction, jumping & running skills. Liam Poff helped with kicking skills & great to have Paudie Bailey help with catching skills. Fiacc set up an obstacle course & Norma manned the fun corner! Everyone worked up a sweat & hopefully fun was had by all!! Well done to Nicholas O’Shea for impressing with his kicking skills & motivation to learn today.. keep up the good work & practice at home boys & girls. Parents if you want ball play indoors without breakages we use fabric football balloon covers.. certainly this helps keep up the activity on a wet day & at 6.30am! Hopefully we’ll see you all for a prompt start at 10am next Sunday morning. Wear the runners & join in!!
Finally, thanks to Lizzy Foale and Claire Flynn for collecting money and doing the name tags.
U8: A fantastic turn out for the first session of our u8 season.
Well done to all the kids stepping up from the u6s and fitting in so well. We put a lot of work into our hopping and kicking in the excellent new facilities at the Sports Academy.
Watch out for some homework on the What’s App group.
See you all at 10am next Sunday and make sure to bring a friend.

U10: New training venue, new footballs and most importantly for the start of the new season lots of new young enthusiastic footballers joining with the Under-10’s. Enthusiasm is the vital moving force that drives action. What’s more, enthusiasm is contagious! Our under-10 players from last year’s panel certainly responded to the enthusiasm of their new team members resulting in a very active and productive first session. It was great to welcome Erika, Thomas, Hugh , Tommy, Paddy, Seamus, Isaac and Kaela who have graduated from the under -8’s and fitted in without a bother showing good fitness and ball handling skills. Of course the elders of this age group are always ready and willing to improve their skill level and we look forward to coaching them again in the coming year. So welcome back to James, Gearoid, Rian and Lainey. For showing great energy and his overall participation the Player of the Week trophy went to Thomas, so congratulations to him. Over the next few weeks we expect more of our players to make a welcome return and join us on Sunday mornings from 10am to 11am in the Kerry Sports Academy, IT Tralee North Campus.

U12: Training starts Wednesday at 4.45pm to 6pm on our astro pitch. Don’t forget gum shields.
