U14 Boys: Our U14 will resume football action on the 12th of August when they welcome Na Gaeil to Blennerville for a St Brendans league match at 5.30pm. Best of luck to all involved.

U16: Our U16s were defeated by a good Spa team last Wednesday evening in Killarney. Final scores were Spa 3-16 St Pats 4-03.

Juniors
Our senior B team welcomed Keel to Blennerville last Sunday to play the semi-finals Group 3 of the Junior Football League. Unfortunately, the result didn’t go our way as we were defeated on a score line of 2-12 to 1-08.
Playing with the aid of the wind and in wet conditions, Keel got off to a flying start scoring the first 3 points before Breandan Savage opened our account with a point from play after 7 minutes. Keel added 2 more points through their mid-fielder who was in good scoring form. Patrick Dowling pointed from a free and added another from play with Paudi Bailey also pointing from a placed ball but Keel kept up the pressure with more points and their pressing resulted in them capitalising on a loose ball to score the first goal late into the first half. They added another point to take a 1-08 to 0-4 advantage to the break.
There was 10 minutes of the second half played before any points were up and this came from the penalty spot after David Kerins was wrongly impeded as he was about to shoot for goal. Breandan stepped up and slotted to the left of the goalkeeper to leave us with 4 points adrift but Keel scored 1-03 within 10 minutes and held on for a win.
Keel win now go on to play An Ghaeltacht in the final.

Seniors
Our seniors put themselves in a great position to secure division 3 status for next year when they defeated a robust Listowel Emmets team last Friday evening in a back-game played in Frank Sheehy Park, Listowel.
The hosts were the first to register the first point of the game at it came from play after 4 minutes when their centre half back found a bit of space to point over from close range. We took control of the game afterwards and levelled matters 2 minutes later through one of our mid-fielders who has been revelling in his new role. Our full-forward was next in on the action 5 minutes later when he collected the ball from around 40m, dummied his marker and pointed with his left foot. Our inspirational captain got the first of his 6 points from a one-two pass with our full forward who had turned provider this time. Within 20 minutes, we scored 5 unanswered points before Emmet’s corner forward pointed from a free and he also added another point from a converted free as the home side trailed by 3 points at the end of the short whistle. Mention must be made of our back line who were turning over balls and distributing effectively which set the template for our forwards to utilise.

The home side won the thrown ball at the start of the 2nd half and thier first forage into our defence resulted in the only goal of the game just when our defence were just settling to level the game much to the surprise of the good crowd that had turned up to see the game as we were much the better side up to that point. Our dominance was re-emphasised as we held the home side to 4 more scores and scored 9 of our own including a delightful side-line kick from an acute angle as we saw out the game on a scoreline of 0-15 to 1-07.

It was an impressive and encouraging performance by our players who stood up to a sinewy Emmets side where every player including the subs that were brought on played their part in this great victory.
