Lotto
There was no winner of our Club Lotto Jackpot on Sunday night last. The numbers drawn were 02, 08, 14 & 16. The five €30 consolation prizes went to Bridget Boyle Derrymore, Connie Morrissey Caherslee, Billy Lyons c/o Tony Casey, John Duhig Castlegregory and Tommy Brosnan Lohercannon.
Next week’s Lotto will have a Jackpot of €6,800 and the draw will take place on Monday night July 22nd in Keane’s Bar. Lotto tickets can be purchased online, from any club officer or at the following outlets: Seamus O’Sullivan Master Butchers, O’Shea’s Shop and Service Station, Poff Motors, Noyeks, Byrnesworth, Rock Inn, Dwyer’s Bar, Skelper Quane’s, Betty’s Bar and Keane’s of Curraheen.
Juvenile Academy
U6: We had a fun session before our summer break today … it was a fabulous morning with a great turnout of parents and under 6s. After a ball skills warm up we had an agility obstacle course race for 2 teams of 10 under 6s.. it was neck & neck between the teams right to the end! The winning under 14 girls team provided inspiration to all the youngsters by showing their recent county league winning trophy & explained that all their training was paying off! With 20 players today we had 2 matches to practice our skills, well done to Mary Kate O’shea and Luke Galvin for great match play. Special recognition and the player of the week trophy went to Emma who only started recently and is picking up the skills very quickly. The sun stayed out for our ice lollys & extra thanks to the Colivet’s for providing all the crisps & to all the mums for their help with the juice this season.. the mingling and chat after is fun for all & providing a great club spirit. Enjoy your break now.. keep up the practice at home and don’t forget Cul Camp is on in Blennerville on Monday 5th August for the week. Back to Academy on Sunday 11th August.
U8: We had a good turnout last Sunday in glorious sunshine for our last academy before the summer break. While the temperatures were soaring, all the boys and girls put in a great effort in their respective games. We then finished with a run out in the obstacle course set up by U6 coach Fiona which was great fun. All the boys and girls were then treated to an ice lolly and juice to cool down. Many thanks yet again to some of the mums and dads for helping with the refreshments and the tidy up afterwards. Our Player of the Week was Killian Enright. Killian has been a regular attendant to our U8 sessions of late. Everybody knows about his skills and talent but he is a great lad to coach also. Well done Killian. We will take a well earned break for a few weeks. We have amassed a huge amount of training sessions and games since we began in Cumann Iosaef on January 20th. We will return training on Sunday August 11th which is the Sunday after we host the Kelloggs Cúl Camp. It takes place in our club pitch starting on Monday August 5th through to Friday August 9th. It’s a great fun filled camp where the boys and girls will develop their skills and have lots of fun doing so. Bookings can only be made online through their website www.kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie/ . U10: Under the glorious sunshine last Sunday, our U10’s hosted Tarbert in a challenge match in Blennerville. Both sides showed a great display of football skills and it was great to see our boys and girls showing enthusiasm and commitment. The game was momentarily held up when juvenile chairman introduced some members of the victorious U14 girls team who came to give the team some words of encouragement. Thanks to Milltown and their coaches for traveling to St. Pat’s and also to senior team player, Kieran Dwyer who refereed the match. Academy is now on a well deserved summer break and sessions will resume again on Sunday 11th August just after Cul Camp.

Our senior B team is scheduled to play Milltown/Castlemaine this Friday, 19th July in Round 5, Group 3 of the Junior Football League in Blennerville. Time for this fixture is 7.30pm.

St Pats 3-12 Gneevguilla 3-11
St Pats took a huge step in securing division 3 status for next year when they handed table-toppers, Gneevguilla their first defeat in the County League last Saturday evening in Blennerville in what was a very fast and entertaining game that produced 6 goals.
St Pats signalled their intent from the throw in which they won and a long ball sent in to Kieran to point over in the first minute. Gneevguilla levelled from a converted free by Con Buckley. Both sides traded points and on 17 minutes, the away side Sean O’Keefe rattled the bar from close range but the resultant ball fell kindly for the advancing Conor Herlihy who wasted no time in slotting into the net. 2 minutes later, Gneevguilla’s 2nd goal, scored by John O’Leary went in as a result of their direct play and running at the St Pats defence. A couple of well taken frees by Eoin did little to reduce the deficit as the away side defended in numbers and were more clinical upfront. John O’Leary added his side’s 3rd goal on 26 minutes and further points from Padraig Doyle and Mike Murphy saw them finish the half strongly as the score line read St Pats 6 points to Gneevguilla’s 3-05.
St Pats captain, David O’Callaghan’s kick which bounced in front of Patrick O’Riordan and went over the bar as early as the 1st minute was only a taste of the drama that would enfold later on. Shane O’Sullivan pulled a point back for Gneevguilla a minute after from a turned over ball and Padraig O’Connor added another after 4 minutes to see them further stretch their lead to 9 points. A quick free was taken and found our full -forward, whose side stepped effort flew past the goalkeeper on 5 minutes and this seemed to kick start the St Pats come back with the same player adding another point from a free a minute later. St Pats 2nd goal was an individual goal scored by Brendan who saw a gap in the middle of the Gneevguilla defence, ran at them and his low-angled shot sailed past the goalkeeper. A Shane O’Sullivan point for Gneevguilla was cancelled out by a free converted by Willie on 19 minutes with the away side still ahead by 4 points. On 20 minutes, a high ball was sent in to Paul, who had pushed up and his tapped pass resulted in the 3rd goal for St Pats much to the delight and disbelief of the crowd, depending on whose side one was on. 3 straight points by Willie including a free saw the home side lead by 2 points with 2 minutes to go. Gneevguilla threw everything at the St Pats but their defence stood strong and repelled each attacking threat as the game was closed out by the smallest of margins on a scoreline of 3-12 to Gneevguilla’s 3-11

Cul Camp 2019
The St Pats Cul Camp will take place between the 5th and 9th of August from 10am to 2.30pm every day. The Camp provides boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 13 with action packed and fun-filled week of activities during the summer holidays. Cost is €60 per child with reductions (€55 for second child and €45 for third and fourth child) for additional members of the family. Booking can be made online at the Cul Camp official website or on the first morning of the Camp. Each child will receive FREE Kellog’s GAA gear and backpack.
