Lotto
Our club lotto remains suspended due to Covid-19. While this is a regrettable decision it is necessary to safeguard the health of our club officer’s lotto players and our many promoters. We will gradually be restarting activities over the next month in line with Government and GAA advice.
We thank all our promoters and supporters of the St. Pats Club Lotto and we look forward to your support again hopefully in the not too distant future.
Juveniles
U6: We had fun in the sun this morning with 11 kids participating in under 6s. Although not huge numbers the kids there really enjoyed playing with their friends getting fitter & practicing their skills in small groups. We are following all GAA COVID19 guidelines with ball, equipment & hand sanitisation & e-health questionnaires for every session. Please feel free to contact Fiona 0860588392 if you would like your children to join in but aren’t sure of the procedures. We will be delighted to get back to bigger playing numbers & will split the kids into groups of no more than 15. The benefits of exercise & team play cannot be underestimated for our children in these difficult times. Our player of the week, Darragh O’Regan showed his determination not to give up in the heat!!
U8: After a skills session we played a ‘World Cup 5 a side’ with all the teams playing against each other. After some great battles, Captain Cillian Enright’s team came out on top. Big thanks to senior players David O’Callaghan and Luke Mulligan for putting the lads through their paces. Training continues next Sunday at 10:30am
U10: We had our best attendance so far on Friday evening last since we resumed activities. It was great to see Rian, Aimee, Patryk, and Nickodem back in action again and bringing their action game were two of our younger players AJ and Cillian.The energy coming from the larger group contributed very much to an all action and very enjoyable session. The emphasis last week was on improving the kicking abilities of these young players which they got to put into practice at the end of session game. The game produced some great scores and kick passing and to keep improving all the players were encouraged to put some practice in during the week. We again remind parents to resubmit the on-line health question in advance of the Friday session. Once the initial set up has been completed it only takes 2 minutes to resubmit that there has not been a change to a player’s health. This is a critical part of the GAA’s safe return to play programme designed to reduce the risks arising from Covid-19.
U12: Aibhistin de Staic B 4-09 v Naomh Pádraig 5-13
St Pats resisted a late surge from the home team to hold out for a victory in the first Coiste na nÓg game played in Connolly Park. This was a very entertaining and sporting game with both sides displaying great skills and teamwork. St Pats got the benefit of some goals in the first half and some well taken points in the 2nd half while playing good football. Austin Stacks got 3 well worked 2nd half goals but stout defending ensured St Pats shaded the contest.
Thanks to the Austin Stacks club for facilitating a change to the fixture,to Ref Gordon Kerins, to the mentors and supporters on both sides and above all to the young stars of the future.

U14: There was another good turnout last Wednesday evening for our U14 boys who continue to fine-tune their skills ahead of their County League competition commencing on Wednesday, the 29th of July.
U16: Best wishes to our U16 boys who will play Finuge in Blennerville, Monday 20th July at 7pm in a Group I Round 1 fixture of the County League. Tarbert and Beale complete the group.
GAA Health Questionnaire
The GAA has provided a simple Health Questionnaire to be completed once prior to returning to GAA activities by adult players, parents/guardians of underage players and team personnel. While there has been a relatively good completion of the initial questionnaire it is also very important that adult players, parents/guardians of underage players and team personnel logon to the same system before each training session/game and resubmit that their health status has not changed. It takes about a minute to do this and doing so is in the interest of each individual and their team members. The Health Questionnaire is available on a mobile responsive webpage at returntoplay.gaa.ie and it is worth bookmarking this page on your browser.
Minors
Unfortunately, our Round 1 MFL match against Moyvane/Tarbert did not take place last Friday due to our inability to field a team and had to concede the fixture.
Co. Junior Football League 2020
This League commences on Friday 17th May with games at 7.30 pm and we have been drawn in Group G with Castlegregory, Keel and Churchill. Fixtures are as follows:
Friday 14th August at 7pm Rd.1 Castlegregory (H); Friday 4th September at 7pm Churchill (A); Friday 11th September at 6.30pm Keel (A)
Seniors
Best of luck to our seniors who play Gneevguilla this Sunday, the 26th Round 1, Group 1 of the Junior Premier Club Championship in Cordal. The match throws in at 2.30pm.
St Pats Cúl Camp 2020
To the parents/guardians of kids who will attend the St Pats Cúl Camp which starts from 3rd to 7th of August, there are some checklists that should be adhered to:
* Sign confirmation of child’s health status * Escort child to specific group of the pitch * Maintain social distancing at all times * No child is permitted to have mobile phones * Food for 3 break times (if you have more than 1 child, ensure each child carries their own lunch – no sharing) * Gumshield for the child/children * Provide waterproof storage (bags will be outside) * Label all clothing, water bottles and hand sanitisers
