St Pats Notes 04/05/2020

Lotto
With the recent government announcement on the extension of the Covid-19 restrictions, our club lotto remains suspended. We will hopefully review the situation during the week of the 18th May and will act in line with the Government / HSE advice at that time.
While this is a regrettable decision it is necessary to safeguard the health of our club officer’s lotto players and our many promoters.
We thank all our promoters and supporters of the St. Pats Club Lotto and we look forward to your support again hopefully in the not too distant future.

Looking after your Mental Health during this Pandemic
For those of us struggling to deal with the restrictions due to the crisis, Yourmentalhealth.ie has plenty of advice and information to help deal with our mental well-being. Some tips are given below:
* Heathy lifestyle – It is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle by eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly and getting a good night’s sleep. * Develop a routine – Maintain structure in your day for exercising, meals, work, relaxation, sleeping etc and try to stick to it. * Take a break – If working from home, ensure that you take regular breaks away from phone and computer. * Limit news consumption – Information overload can be very upsetting and cause stress. Take regular breaks from news and social media and rely on information from trusted sources such as HSE * Stay connected – Stay connected with family and friends through calls, video chat, text messages etc. * Ask for help – If you are feeling low, talk to someone you trust or contact a mental health support service.

Covid-19 (Corona Virus) Guidelines for Use of Open Public Spaces
Everyone is urged to stay in their home wherever possible until Monday 18 May. Staying at home is the best way to minimise the risk of COVID-19 to your friends, families and communities. These measures were initially in place until 12 April but they have been extended as they are making a huge difference in reducing the spread of COVID-19. Staying in means staying in control of this outbreak.
To achieve this and still abide by the Public Health guidelines, we have been advised to
* Stay local – Don’t travel more than 2km from home unless going out for essential items such as food and medicine. Please note that from Tuesday, 5th of May, people will be allowed to go up to 5km from their homes to exercise and those who are cocooning can leave their homes for exercise as long as they avoid all contact with other people. * Keep your distance – When going out for a walk, please keep a distance of 2metres from other people * Stay within your own household group * Use the outdoors respectfully – Be mindful of others with whom you are sharing public space. If walking a dog, please keep it on a lead and clean up after you should the need arise. * Follow Public Health Advise – Please make sure to wash your hands for 30 seconds before you leave home and when you return home.

Covid-19 Community Response
As part of the government response to this pandemic, they, through the Kerry GAA has established a Covid-19 Community Call Forum. This forum in conjunction with Kerry GAA aims to provide support and/or services such as collection and delivery of essential items such as food, fuel or medicine or support if you are experiencing social isolation or cocooning. The FREEPHONE number to call is 1800 807 009 and Kerry CoCo will contact our club coordinator who will get in touch with our club volunteers who have kindly agreed to provide assistance. You can also text “SUPPORT” followed by your name to 50555 or email: covidsupport@kerrycoco.ie<mailto:covidsupport@kerrycoco.ie>. This service is available from 8am to8pm, 7 days a week.

Happy Anniversary
Happy anniversary to Kevin and Nicola Bowler who celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary last week.

Communion and Confirmation
Due to the continued closure of all schools and the restrictions in place with regards to gathering of people together in one place, all Confirmation and Communion ceremonies are postponed. When the government relaxes these restrictions, there will be consultations between the school community, parents and each parish with a view to setting new dates.

Best Regards,
