And as usual, there will be two challenges: The standard DWC, which is has a choice of 2 options – Option 1 is a 31km walk with the route going from from Ballyferriter to Dingle, and there will be return buses to Blennerville available from Dingle; Option 2 is a 53km walk from Ballyferriter to Annascaul (again, there will be buses available to Blennerville from Annascaul). Please note that buses will leave from Blennerville at 7am sharp for this option. And then we have the ultra route, which is 60km. Juvenile Academy
U6: We had a fun session this morning, great to get outside with lots of space & fresh air! The aim of today’s session was ball handling.. the more ball touches the better! We had fun with speed, agility, kicking, catching and core strength in getting up & down off the ground with no hands. Very well done to all the boys and girls this morning. Special mention to Darragh Curran for his amazing point kicking ability!
Thanks so much to Marie, Jennifer & Brigid for all your efforts providing hot chocolate for all the boys & girls & teas & coffees for the adults. It’s a great end to a fun session and a bonus to see all the kids practicing their point kicking over the senior posts!
Looking forward to next week and another good turnout
U8: We had a great turnout of 22 boys and girls last Sunday on our Astro turf. After our warm up, the coaches worked on the core basic skills of catching, kicking, the pick up and hand-passing. We then finished with two games which were very competitive and both ended in a draw! Huge congrats to Noah Flynn who won Player of the Week. Noah is one of the most consistent attendees at training and is a very deserving recipient of the award. The kids then enjoyed some delicious hot chocolate prepared by Marie Fitzgibbon and parents of the players. With the large number of players at the academy on Sunday mornings, we require help from parents every week to provide tea’s/coffee’s for the adults and hot chocolate for the kids. So we ask all parents to contact Joe on 0872593800 and let him know what Sunday’s you can assist with. Membership is also due so if you have not paid your membership, please visit our website www.stpatsgaaclub.com<www.stpatsgaaclub.com/> and complete the registration online. Finally, we have lots of football blitzes ahead of us with the first blitz coming up over Easter. It will take place in John Mitchels GAA grounds on Wednesday April 24th from 2-5pm so put that date in to your diary. In the mean-time, the academy continues next Sunday at 10:30am at the club grounds. See you all there!
U10: On what was his first session with the under 10 panel Rían Flynn started with such a good display that he was awarded the Player of the Week trophy. So well done to Rían on making such a good start with the under 10’s. Of course he had stiff competition with great effort put in by Aimee, Rhíana, Lainey, James and Stephen. In our point kicking competition we saw some great scores from Aoife, Eddie, Chloe and Gearóid. We remind all our young players to make sure to bring your gum shield with you to training and to wear it during training.
All players are reminded that membership registration for 2019 must be completed by 30th March. Registration can be completed on-line through the Club Facebook page or the club website www.stpatsgaaclub.com<www.stpatsgaaclub.com>.
U12: St. Pats under 12’s were training during the week. All our players put in a great effort especially some of our younger St Pats future stars such as Rodhan Culloo, Conor Sheehan, Ben O’Leary and Kevin Gramoz. Next training session is this fri 29th of March 5.45pm to 6.45pm and again Sun 31st 10.30am to 11.30am both sessions will be on the pitch in Blennerville. The u12 county league starts Sunday 7th of April with an away trip to Valentia throw at 6pm so it’s important ye all continue to attend our training sessions and keep practicing yer skills at home during the week. Naomh Pádraig Abú !!

Seniors
St Pats 0-13 Currow 1-12
Currow took the 2 points at stake when they defeated St Pats in round 2 of the Credit Union SFL played last Sunday in Blennerville.
St Pat’s Eoin Greaney opened scores after 17 seconds after Liam Poff won the throw in and found Eoin, who finished calmly. It was tit for tat for the next 10 minutes with both teams trading points until Currow’s Tommy Dennehy found the net for the only goal of the game after 11 minutes. St Pats rallied after the goal and scored 3 unreplied points to once again lead by 1 half way into the half but this was short-lived as the away side hit a purple patch of their own and scored 5 straight points to take a 1-8 to 0-7 lead to the break.
St Pats made changes going into the second half but it was Currow that picked up from where they left off despite being a man down early in the half when John O’Connor received his marching orders after an altercation. This did not deter them as they further stretched their lead with a couple of points from Mike McCarthy, who was proving to be a thorny wire up front for Currow. Former inter-county player, Seamus Scanlon took control of the mid-field and won most of the kick outs that came his way, which often resulted in scores for his team. One of the moves of the game came from Brendan Poff, whose dazzling runs and direct play almost resulted in a goal as his effort unfortunately sailed over the bar. A late rally from St Pats, who were at this stage also a man down when goalkeeper Paudi Bailey was sent off late in the game, was met by an organised Currow defence-line who stayed in shape and often causing turn overs as they closed off the game on a score-line of St Pats 0-13 to Currow’s 1-12
There is no game this weekend due to Kerry’s involvement in the Allianz National League Final this Sunday when they play Mayo. We wish them the best of luck.

Congratulations
