Juvenile Academy
U6: We had 15 playing in the sun this morning. Well done to the boys and girls for trying out a few new games, cups & saucers & minefield. We’ll keep working on speed & agility & ball touches through different games each week. We introduced match play today, well done to all the boys & girls for trying their best. Special mention to Mary Kate for her tackling and Darragh Sheehan for his speed & ball skills! The hot chocolate & play afterwards is going down a treat, thanks to all the parents for getting involved and helping out with this. We need your continued support! See you all next week U8: Our u8’s trained in the sunshine on our astro turf under the watchful eyes of their coaches and parents. It was delightful to see all the happy faces as they learnt their skills. With the large number of players at the academy on Sunday mornings, we require help from parents every week to provide tea’s/coffee’s for the adults and hot chocolate for the kids. So we ask all parents to contact Joe on 0872593800 and let him know what Sunday’s you can assist with. Finally, we have lots of football blitzes ahead of us with the first blitz coming up over Easter. It will take place in John Mitchels GAA grounds on Wednesday April 24th from 2-5pm so put that date in to your diary. In the mean-time, the academy continues next Sunday at 10:30am at the club grounds. See you all there! U14 Girls: Our U14 girls had an emphatic victory over Inbhear Sceine Gaels B last Saturday afternoon in the first match of the County League, winning on a score line of St Pats 6-11 ISG B 0-01. This was a match where everyone of our players played to their potentials; our back line were impossible to break down, our midfielders as ever, covered every blade of grass on the field, attacking and defending when the need arose and our forwards were scoring at will. This outstanding display is a testament to the girls’ grreat attendance at training and to the hardwork and commitment they put in at every training session.
