Academy

U6: We had a busy training session for under 6s this morning with over 20 boys & girls. High energy evasion games & ball skills with obstacle courses & match play. Well done to all, especially to our player of the week, Zayd, who put in the best performance of the session. Only one more training session next week before our winter break.. make the most of what’s left of our evenings for practice at home!! Even indoors over the winter at home obstacle courses, hopping/ balance/ crawling games are all excellent for developing strength & coordination. Looking forward to seeing all our players next Sunday morning at 10.30 for a fun session & Halloween treats followed by presentation of certificates for all those who participated in our academy this year.
U8: Last Sunday, we hosted Moyvane for blitz games at Under 8 and 10 level in glorious sunshine in Blennerville. There was a huge attendance from both clubs which was great to see. Both Under 8 games were very competitive and it was great to see how much the boys and girls have improved throughout the season. Thanks to Neilus and former St Pats player Tommy O’Donoghue from Moyvane for co-ordinating their teams on the day. Big thanks to coaches Conor Culloo and Joe for setting out the pitches and to senior player David O’Callaghan for reffing one of the games. We would also like to especially thanks the parents of the Under 8’s for providing plenty of snacks and goodies for both teams (The Cake from the Turner family went down very well!) and to Under 6 coaches, Fiona and Norma for arranging the catering side of things. Next Sunday is the last day of the season so we really look forward to having all players there so we can issue them with their certs and for some more goodies!! Joe will send out further information on next Sunday during the week.
U10: Last Sunday morning there was a great buzz about the pitch as we were visited by the Under-10s and Under-8s teams from the Moyvane Club. For St. Pats under-10’s we had probably the best gathering of our players for many months. We were able to set up 2 teams of 8-players on each team and this meant that our players got 45 minutes of good playing time. At the conclusion of the games refreshments by way of snacks and soft drinks were available to the players. Our thanks go to the parents who baked and brought cakes and treats and who helped to provide our visitors and home players with these delights. Our thanks also to the Moyvane players, coaches and parents for coming to St. Pats and providing good challenging games.
Next Sunday the 20th October will be our last session for 2019 and it would be great if all of our Under-10 squad were present for the end of this season of the Academy.

U12: Well done to our U12 boys who won the St Brendans Board U12 B Blitz held in Caherslee last Tuesday defeating Churchill and Ardfert on their way to the title.
