Many thanks to all who contribute to our weekly Club Lotto. The Club cannot emphasise enough the importance of our members promoting the Club Lotto among family, friends and work colleagues. The Covid-19 restrictions have seriously hampered our fundraising and income over the last 18 months. The Lotto is now a critical source of funds for the Club. We are appealing to all club members to promote our lotto at this time to ensure our clubs future viability.

Please have your lotto entries in by 7pm, every Sunday evenings.

Juvenile Academy

U5’s: A good turnout for our second last Sunday morning training of the season. Lots of kicking practice, passing and a mini game to finish the session. Well done to our player of the week Jamie Curran. U7’s: There was a good turn out for the under 7s today for our penultimate training session of the year. Both the boys and girls enjoyed the session. Congratulations to Aaron Costello who was our player of the week. A big thanks to our usual coaches.
U8&10 Girls: On Monday 4th the much awaited under 10 return fixture to Castlegregory and Annascaul had been organised several weeks in advance.. the forecast was for rain but nobody was expecting the cloud burst just as the matches got underway! It was so torrential the girls took cover to let the worst pass. They wanted to continue to play & braved the elements to play 2 short matches each with great enthusiasm & work ethic. Our girls really showed the improvement in their skills, teamwork and point scoring. We were very grateful to have Sarah, Katelyn, Emma & Rosie join us to make 2 teams so all the girls got plenty of movement & ball touches. The pitch is drying out well in parts but girls training was cancelled this Sunday to make way for the best parts to be used by under 7s and fiercely competitive boys parish league. We finish our successful season next Sunday morning 17th October at 10.30am with fun & games for the girls, certs and treats. Teas & coffees & juice will be available and we invite any parents to bring some home baking if possible to finish off with a chat & some goodies.
U9-11’s: The eagerly awaited parish league got underway on Sunday morning in perfect conditions at our home grounds. The league has four teams of u9 and u11 boys representing their home areas around Blennerville and beyond. The teams vying for honours are Bridge, Windmill, Dingle Way and West. With local pride at stake, the players did not disappoint. The four teams competed fiercely, and it was a great spectacle of football. In the first pairings of the day, there wasn’t much to choose between the two sides. Windmill had a narrow victory over Dingle Way. The winning side showed great determination through Charlie Sharp, James O’Riordan and Ben Walsh. For Dingle Way, James Daly, Thomas Colivet and Eddie Hayes played well and displayed great courage. West won out over a depleted Bridge side with superb performances from Jace Flynn, Cillian Enright, Jake Kelly. They had great support play from Luke Galvin, Jayden Sinnott and Dylan Passway. There were also fine displays for Bridge from Paddy Flynn, Oscar Curran and Tiarnán Scanlon. In the second set of games Dingle Way won out over Bridge. Darragh Flahive and Darragh Sheehan combined brilliantly for Dingle Way and created a lot of scoring opportunities for the team. AJ Turner took some great scores up front and he was well supported by Flynn Howarth and Isaac Price. For Bridge, Sam Smith, Bruce McMillan, Dylan Murphy, Oscar and Paddy fought bravely but they had too much to do when missing Rian Flynn, Noah Flynn, Dee Hanly and Ethan Lacey on the day. In the final game of the day, West and Windmill put on a great display of football for the spectators. It was a ding-dong battle with a place in the final up for grabs. There was great bravery and commitment shown from Thomas Higgins, Rylan Flynn, Gearoid Hingston, Stephen Enright and Fionn Sharp. West started stronger and were leading for most of the game. However, it was Windmill who got the upper-hand in the last quarter through scores from Tommy Costello, Hugh Costello and Cian O’Regan. The team were put under fierce pressure from West but showed great determination to hold on their lead and book their place in the final. In our next round of games on Sunday 17th, Dingle Way take on West with a place in the final up for grabs. In our other game Windmill will take on a Bridge side who will be back to full strength and will be a vastly different prospect next week. Following the final round of games, we will immediately progress to finals. There will be a Cup Final for the 1st and 2 places teams and a Shield Final for the 3rd and 4th placed teams. We also have a special Man of the match award for each final and a coveted Player of the Tournament award. Finally, we have a special Top scorer of the Tournament award. A special mention here to AJ Turner from Dingle Way side who is our Top Scorer so far. He is closely followed by three players currently tied in second place: Darragh Sheehan (Dingle Way), Jace Flynn (West) and Cian O’Regan (Windmill). We look forward to seeing everyone back at St Pat’s next Sunday for the tournament and awarding of Academy certificates for the year. Could all players gather from 10am (10.15 at the latest) for 10.30 throw-in. It promises to be a great morning of football and a fitting finale to our Academy for the year.
U12 Girls: There was no training for under 12 girls this week but a friendly match to follow tomorrow evening (Monday July 11) against Na Gael and we have our shield final of The Tralee Town board League against KOR on Thursday evening (any under 8 & 10 girls want to come cheer on the girls would be much appreciated). We finish our successful season next Sunday morning 17th October at 10.30am with fun & games for the girls, certs and treats. Teas & coffees & juice will be available and we invite any parents to bring some home baking if possible to finish off with a chat & some goodies.
U13’s: Game v Ardfert in Semi Final of Tralee League will be played this week with Ballymac awaiting the winners.

Seniors
St Pats narrowly lost to Waterville last Saturday evening in a Kerry Petroleum Junior Premier Club Football Championship relegation semi-final played in Cromane. Full time scores were St Pats 1-7 Waterville 0-11.
We struggled to keep up with the opposition most times and failed to capitalise on their inaccuracy in front of goals despite Waterville kicking 10 wides in total. Special mention to Joe O’Connor who was immense in the full-back line.
Team: Paudie Bailey, Joe O’Connor, Conor Moore, Brian Murphy, Tommy Lynch (0-1), Luke Mulligan, Niall McCarthy, Eoin Greaney (0-1, 1f), Liam O’Sullivan, Gary Savage (captain) (0-1), Brendan Poff, Fergal O’Brien (1-1), David O’Callaghan (0-2, 1f), Kieran Hurley (0-1, 1f), Cormac Lynch
Used Subs: Shane Jordan for Gary Savage, Liam Poff for Eoin Greaney, Breandán Savage for Cormac Lynch and Cillian O’Riordan for Niall McCarthy

By virtue of this loss, we will now be playing Finuge in the Junior Premier relegation play-off final this Saturday October 16 at 4pm in Mountcoal. There will be extra-time and a result on the day with the losers of this game relegated to the Junior Championship next year.

Minor County Championship
Best of luck to the St Brendan’s Board Minors as they are drawn to face North Kerry in the quarterfinals of the Keane’s of Killorglin Supervalu Minor Football Championship this Saturday, the 16th of October at 4pm in Cordal.
